Is it really about the sex? Or is it? Sometimes I wonder what it really is.
The other day I had the misfortune of listing in on a couple who didn't know I was listening to them. Now, I could have walked away, but me being the nosey being I am stayed put and just had to listen. I am sure I will do some time burning in hell for this so I will share it with you and maybe get a reduced sentence. Then we can all share in the burning.
Anyway, they were arguing about what kind of lubrication to buy for the bedroom. She wanted to buy something that was heated and would be a helper for her "area". He wanted something that would not be slippery, when toys were involved. They really started to go at it and then they started to kiss. I was entranced. Kissing over lubrication? OH!!! MY!!! Now, since I was in my least favorite store, Target, and I was at the end isle and they were in ...I guess the lubrication isle, I had to see this one through. If only you could have seen my face. I slowly peeked around the end. In my mind, I pictured a couple in their thirties who was fit and gorgeous. Nope, I saw a middle aged, morbidly obese couple with matching stained t-shirts that looked like they had not seen the light of day for years. Maybe professional gammers, or something like that. OK...,my fantasy was gone and so had the couple.
This got me to thinking what is it that makes two people so hot for each other? Apparently for this couple it was lubrication and sex toys. What was it for other couples. I remembered a couple from my college years. They were the kind of couple that fought over everything. They fought over what to watch on TV, what song was on the radio (yes, we listened to the radio then), what to eat and so on. There fights were long and loud. Their fights were full of passion and tears. She always ran away and he always ran after her. They always broke up and they always got back together again. Eventually they got married and had a bunch of kids. They are still married. I asked my friend many years later what was it that made her stay through all the crazy drama? She said it was the amazing, drop to your knees, cry your heart out sex. I thought is sex better, when you think it might be taken from you?
Then there was one of my girlfriends I knew right out of college. She was wild. We were young Nurses together and we worked nights. When we had a night off we would go out dancing, she would take any man she would meet out to the car and have her way with him. Sometimes two or three a night leaving me to dance by myself (oh...poor me). I asked her once. what was she thinking? She told me she had the best sex that way. No strings attached. She said the sex was just a little bit better that way. I always thought is sex better dangerous?
I suppose questions like these ramble along most anyone's mind. Is sex better, when you think your partner might be gone or is it better dangerous? I suppose that depends on who is asking the question. For each of my friends I think the it mattered quite a bit and the answer was yes. For me the answer is no. I think the real question is this....Its really all about love right?
That couple in the lubrication isle. They obviously loved each other enough to lube it up for whatever reasons and got steamed up over it to smooch it out in Target. That is a lot of love right there. My Friends with all those kids, I am not sure really. I am pretty sure that is love. They have been together a very long time, even though they argue over everything they have toughed it out and you can't say that for most folks. Also, according to my friend, the sex rocks. who can say that? Not many. That must be love. Now for my promiscuous friend, that is what it is. At least my friend is honest with herself. She does what she does.
Yes, I think Love is the answer and sex just the happy product. Anyway, before you step into the lubrication isle in target, hang out at the end, you might hear some cool conversations. I know did and I didn't even try.
Oh...you want to know what I think about sex? Sex is one oh my five most favorite activities. Taking naps, eating cheeseburgers, getting a massage and drinking diet coke...these activities are not in order.

What is this thing about love
Have you ever wondered what it was that attracted you to your mate? I often look at my husband and wonder what the hell was I thinking?
I ask him sometimes. Husband..what is it that makes me so irresistible? I always ask him this after I have been completely exasperating and annoying. I do this because this is how I role. I find this funny. He always looks at me and with 100% honesty he says he has no idea why he loves me. He says he just does. He then says he has no off switch for his love for me. He wishes he did. He says I drive him crazy. He says I make no sense that I am illogical and ridiculous. Just when he is about to rant about how I make his world a mess... I give him by big eyes and the pouty look. He then smiles and shakes his head and shrugs.
I remember long before we were married and I was giving my then boyfriend now husband some heated kisses. I opened my eyes and right in the middle of a kiss, I asked him what he was thinking. He said that I had the most beautiful eyes he had ever seen. I tucked that little bit of info in my index file of things to know for future reference.
I often look at my husband and wonder why is it that I love him. He is one of or I do believe the smartest person I have ever known. I have met some very intelligent people in my day. People with lots of letters behind their names and yet, my husband is light years ahead. I love that about him. Smart always turns me on. Way more than six pack abs or a beautiful face. I love that my husband can fix anything. Not that he does mind you. We have things piled up around here that need fixing and I am sure he will get around to it but not anytime soon.
It is funny how we all view love and whom we love. I could no sooner love some hot hunk with hard abs then my husband could go for some young girl who was a ninny. He has often said that even though a young hot thing would be tempting for an hour or two, what would he ever say to her? What would they ever have in common and how would they ever have a life of common goals or a future, if there was no common ground?
Have you ever thought what made you fall in love with your partner/spouse. What was the one thing that he or she did or was that made you know that this person was the one? Do you remember? Tell me I want to know?

My first kiss
I was thinking the other day about what it was like to fall in love for the first time. Do you remember that? That rush. That first kiss. How breathless that kiss was. How you tingled all over from head to toe and you thought there was no one ever to feel what you had felt with that one kiss? I know I did.
I wonder, if anyone ever thinks of that kiss? I do from time to time and I think of the boy who gave it to me. Believe it or not, he was a boy from Church. A boy I met while I was supposed to be learning about our Lord and Savior. He gave me my first kiss behind the youth building. I could never get enough of that boy. Yet, today, I can't even remember his last name or where he lived.
I remember that boy because he was a surfer boy with bleached blond hair and ice blue eyes. I think of him right around my birthday because his birthday was a few days after mine. Funny how things like that don't matter, when your 14. This boy and I left each other a little more grown up after we were done with each other. I am glad I knew him. I am glad I couldn't stop myself from kissing him that first time or the next 100 times after that.
Do you ever just let yourself sink into those feelings of that first kiss of yesterday and feel that first blush of innocence? I don't let myself go there very often. I have never even counted those kisses as anything other than something just for my own memories and no one else's. Yet, here I write to all of you about my first steps into womanhood. I wonder what your experience was? What it was like for you? That kiss of first Love's delight.
I just wrote that and thought how silly. Yet, I can't change what I just wrote. I am glad I had a boy that I kissed and kissed over and over until my lips were chapped and I smiled until someone should have slapped that ridiculous smile off my face. Not!
I hope that everyone has a boy or girl in their lives that kisses them until they can't wipe the smile off of their faces and leaves them breathless. I hope that, this person makes you smile again and again to what almost what feels like a million years later. Just because it was awesome. Just because it was so totally cool. Just because it was yours and his or hers. Just because.

Mini Bar Lady At Ceasars Palace
I just recently went to Vegas. I like Vegas. Well, for the most part. What I like about Vegas is being waited on hand and foot. However, to be able to be waited on hand and foot one has to be willing to pay for it.
Lucky for me, my Husband pays for this service that I love so much. I guess we haven't gotten to know each other yet. I suppose I should back tract and give you a snap shout into my marriage and then you won't judge me to harshly about my why I love to sucked up to while in Vegas.
So....I am the kinda Wife that waits on her Husband. No seriously, I do. I do everything for him. I even butter his bread for him at the table. Hmmm....The only things I do not do for him are basic grooming, dressing and toilet. Oh! I do not feed him. Other than that, you can say I do everything else.
Try and close your mouth and not let in flies or moths. Why would a grown, college educated women in the 21st century be so old-fashioned? To be honest, I do it because it makes my Husband happy. He feels loved when he is served by his wife. So, easy peasy. I just do it.
On the other hand, my Husband treats me like a Princess. I worry for nothing financial. I am taken care of completely. I do have to be a bit more obedient than most or 99% of all women I know but to me its worth it. It took as a long good while to get to the point where I could tell him that he was being a complete ass about this or that and the same for him to me but this seems to work for us. Mostly.
However, when we go to Vegas or any vacation, I must be waited on. We have rules. I carry no luggage. I run no errands. I worry over no costs. Room service is my friend. A hotel suite or a luxury suite is a necessity not an option. The basic rule is that there are always people willing to earn money to do any stupid thing that we are to lazy to do. Just call the front desk or concierge.
Anyway, I have rather became enamored with the mini bar. The Mini bar has snacks and sodas. The mini bar has juices. It also has alcohol and coffee and stuff but then there is the awesome sauce bottled water. It also has, an intimacy kit. I have never bought one. I really would like to buy one, just once. I am dying to find out what is inside and then play with it during Mommy and Daddy happy hour, but I have never been that daring. Not yet, anyway. I also, have wanted to purchase the 200 ML of grey goose vodka for $26.00. Not because I would ever drink it but because I wanted to say I purchased something so small for such a ridiculous price. I don't know frame it or something. Hang a label on it.
So, I was using the water in the mini bar. We were drinking two waters a day. I called the front desk and told them to make sure to give us four waters a day. Day two, we had four waters. Yay! Day three we had no waters. I called the front desk and said. We have no water. How come? In five minutes they send up...no joke 10 waters and promise that by 0900 the next day we will have 4 more waters. I say cool. Day four, at 0900 there is no water. 1100 there is a knock on the door and there is the mini bar lady. Art has answered the door. We had seen her before in the hall and she would knock on the doors to the rooms and yell something unintelligible. I don't think it was English. I only remember this because I had asked Art. What is she saying? He said, I don't know. We even stood in the hall to listen to her because we honestly did not know what the hell she was saying. Then she would walk into the room and do her mini bar thing. She always had this sour look on her face like she hated being the mini bar lady. I don't know, better than being the clean the toilet lady in the casino. Just saying.
Anyway, back to the story, Art answers the door and sees it is sour face mini bar lady. He slams the door in her face. Five minutes later she knocks again. He opens the door and she says. I am here for the mini bar. She walks in without permission. I say, you were supposed to be here at 0900 with water. You were not here. How come? She says, I have been busy. She then hands me two waters. I say, I don't need these waters anymore, we are leaving. She says, you take them. She hands me two more. Here you take extra. I say, I don't need them now. I needed them yesterday. She then shrugs her shoulders and says she is sorry. Turns about and leaves. No explanations, no nothing. Her facial expression was one of disgust and I can't put my finger on it. Like how dare I ask for water you infidel or something like that.
I don't think she is sorry. I think she could care less, if anyone asks for anything and that she is simply to good to be stocking a mini bar and that we should be stocking her mini bar.
So, as we check out, I complain to the desk clerk. He says, there is nothing I can do. You can fill out a form. However, nothing will happen. I tell him that is crazy. He says that Ceasars Hotels and all the Hotels that are owned by them are going through some sort of re-structure and the Employees are so few that she is safe so no matter what she does it won't matter. Holly Hell. I am instantly sad. I think to myself. Where can I go that I can get my bow down to me service in Vegas? Where O' Where?

Sharia Law and Target
I keep thinking about something. I am obsessing about this thing I read on FACEBOOK. It was this article on Sharia Law and Target. Now, I might have miss read something or miss interpreted something. I totally will take the hit for not understanding an article. I have a small brain and I need small words. I admit fully that I am no super brain and need a lot of tutorials about many subjects. However, this article just keeps grinding into my soul and it makes me so unhappy and I just want to go all Rosa Park's over it.
So...here is what my take away was. This article said that certain Targets were having signs posted in the check out lines for their Muslim check out clerks. The signs read something like "If you have pork products or alcohol products, please choose another line". This made me just loose my mind.
I so tried to think about this and be all Liberal and talk myself into something like...OK Teri...Their religion forbids them from eating Pork. Therefore that makes sense. Then I read the law, it say no touching. OK? Then I read the article and it was centered on Muslim women working at Target. OK? Then I tried to understand a little bit further. Women, according to this law are supposed to be covered head to toe. Cared for and protected by their husbands. OK?
I then read five books I found on the Muslim culture explaining how this culture works. They were books of fiction based on the culture written by a Muslim. I enjoyed them. I needed to learn without bias how this culture was in a story form without becoming angry. I wanted to bond with the characters. What I learned was this. A women is supposed to be protected and cared for 100% by her husband and not be seen by any man who is not her husband or immediate family She is not to work. She is not to read unless her husband permits her to read. He also dictates what she may read. She may read the Koran. She is not to drive. She is not to be in public without a male relative or I think an appointed attendant. There was so much more. It took me a very long while to get through all these books but I did it. I will admit I thew them across the room and yelled at them. I must say that for an American woman it is very difficult to read literature for Muslims meant for Muslims. I do decline to reference my source. I stand by that.
My question is why is this Muslim woman working in a Target for all Infidels to see and ogle her? Why is she not behind her home trellis walls? Why is she reading? Why did her Husband place her in such a predicament as to have her near a pork product to begin with? What sort of Muslim man would be so irreprehenisible as to place her in such a jeopardy as such place as Target? Why was she not covered head to toe? Who drove her to Target? How can this woman pick and choose what Sharia Law she abides by? My answer...no one. She was told to do this.
As an American I cannot decide if I do not want to work on Sunday. If I am working for Target and a Christian, I cannot dictate this. How can she choose not to handle pork or not? How is this different? How can a Mormon choose to not sell alcohol or cigarettes ? A Mormon cannot choose. If this Mormon chooses to work for any company in America, he/she has to sell or do what the employer dictates or leave the company. How is this different? I do not understand how this is different. A Mormon is just as devout as a Muslim. There is no difference.
What makes this religion so special? So above all others and the common law that binds us all? I really am bothered by all this. First of all by this Muslim husband/brother that would place his wife, daughter or sister in such a predicament as to have to stand up for her rights where she has never had to stand up for her rights before. What sort of man is this? Second, for target to fall a fool to all this. This is a ploy by this one religion to get their way. If this one faith does this, then all faiths should be able to have a say so as to their particularities or leave the employment of those who do not accommodate them.
I say, you work for an American company, you abide by the rules or you quit. There is no argument. There are plenty of opportunities in America. I honestly think and believe that the Muslim faith chose this box or Target to stand on and see how far they got. Apparently they got pretty far. Stupid Target.

My Thoughts on Benjamin Netanyahu and his speech
I was fortunate to have heard the Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, of Israel speak on the radio today. He spoke on Obama's plan to arm Iran in 10 years and his desire to not go ahead with this plan. I hope I understood everything that Obama had proposed beforehand. I know I have issues trying to understand everything he says. I always feel like I need to re-listen to everything he says because I find it so incredulous. I also, find it difficult to listen to him for more than five minutes and have to read it later. I just get so.....pissy about it all.
Anyway, enough of what I think about Obama. I know I did not vote for him either time. However, America voted for him so as an American, I stand by my President even though I am not really all that thrilled nor happy with how things are going. I do a lot of eye rolling but things could be a lot worse. Things could be a lot better. At least I am not a woman in the middle east. Just saying.
I really like what Benjamin Netanyahu had to say. He made so much sense. I loved that he understood his enemy and that, if given the opportunity Iran would nuke all of us Infidels into oblivion. I agree with him there. I am pretty sure that to rid the world of all Christians and Jews the world Iran would do just that. He gave a very wise and impassioned speech.
I would love to trust Iran and as he said, if they acted like the rest of us, they could have what everyone else has. However, until then, they cannot have what everyone else has. I am paraphrasing and simplifying for my teeny tiny little mind. I mean we all don't agree with everyones religious ideas or politics but we all have to play together in this world and threatening one small state of Israel simply because they are Jews, is ridiculous. We all came from Father Abraham for Pete's Sake. Just different Mothers, We are from Sara and the Muslims are from Hagar. Abraham was a Polygamist. I know, shocker right?
On the same thought, threatening America is silly unless Iran believes that they have nothing stopping them from destroying America, then why should they stop pressing foreword with their agenda? Just a thought, to ponder and let marinate in your brain for a while.
Back to the speech. I loved it. I was inspired and felt rallied to a cause like I have not felt in a long time. I have always stood for Israel and what they were trying to accomplish. I am a very Patriotic and proud to be an American and consider myself so blessed. It would be so cool to have a leader like this man in our capital. Someone who could think long term and not be such a...well...a Pussy.
If you get a chance, read this speech. It was amazing and so inspiring. If you do not agree with my conservative leanings, that is so cool. I get it. That is OK. However, we need to be united in not letting fanatics nuke the hell out of our world.
I am not OK with Obama's plan for Iran and them getting the ability to make their own nukes. Not until they grow up and behave. I really believe that what this guy had to say was important and worthy of hearing or at least reading. There can be a better plan. Something more solid that would allow me some sleep at night.
As Americans, it is our responsibility to make sure the plan for any country to have this ability for nuclear power or arms is the worlds responsibility. We opened the Pandora box and started this crap. We need to keep it closed or at least make sure the world follows all the same rules. I wish that there were no nukes that this wasn't even an option but it is and to even consider letting a country that allows Terrorism, genocide and crimes against women as an everyday thing is a big mistake.
So, google his speech and let yourself decide. Write your Congressman or Senator and tell them what you think about allowing Iran nuclear arms. We are the People and we vote them in and pay these people with our taxes. We have all the power. Do not ever forget that we are the true ones in charge. I plan on writing a letter or two. My one letter might not do anything. However, a million letters might make a difference.

We are the People and we vote them in and pay these people with our taxes. We have all the power. Do not ever forget that we are the true ones in charge. I plan on writing a letter or two. Saved at Target
Sooo.... I went to target the other day. I needed to get ink for the printer. I always have to caution myself upon entering Target that I do not need anything other then what I am there for. However, I really thought that maybe I could pick up some pretty tops there. No seriously, Target has some cute stuff..sometimes.
I went looking in the fat girl section. First of all, there is no fat girl section anymore. OK, let me re-phrase that. There is a fat girl section but it is so infinitesimal that it is hardly worth looking at. Two racks of clothing for us fat girls. I am looking at these racks and I am thinking that the selection of clothing is possibly the ugliest clothes I have ever seen. That, if I could have a stereotype for ugly fat girl styles and patterns these would be it. I begin to sing circus toons at the clown frock looks that Target is passing off as fashion for the larger girl.
Looking deeper in the sale racks and in the regular size clothing I find some items I think might fit me. A pair of jeans, a black button down shirt and a light brown t-shirt. Sigh. How boring these clothes are. I almost go back to the circus clothing but stop myself. No clown clothes for me. I do pick up a nice maternity shirt in a size small that is really pretty. I will use this as tunic shirt. It is a really neat trick I learned from a tall friend of mine. Once you get past buying maternity clothing, when you are not pregnant, you can get some awesome stuff.
Not feeling good about any of these choices and wishing I had a friend to help me. I see two women shopping. Both women are large women who happen to be Black. I am not sure what the PC thing is to say. African American Women, Black Women or darker skinned women. No clue. However, the reason I mention it was because I gave pause at first thinking they would not want to speak to me because I was white. Then I decided I was being ridiculous and just went up to them. I was praying. Dear God please don't let them hate me because I am white. I really need some help right now.
I said Hi. Please don't think I am crazy. I need a girl opinion and you look like you would be my friends. They both smiled. I hold up my clothing choices in front of me and say. These tops...are they just to boring? I mean, If I wear the right jewelry and stuff with them? They were both so nice and sweat. They both started to talk at once telling me that, yes I had made some pretty boring choices but they could be saved, if I accessorised correctly. We commiserated together about the fat girl clothing and then we bonded about being fat together and how hard it was to find clothes. I wanted to take them home.
I told them they saved me today and I appreciated their help. One of the girls confided that she was having the gastric sleeve in April. I wished her well. She said she had ordered her wig just in case she lost her hair (that happens apparently). The other one was hoping to get the operation approved soon. I told them about my brain tumor and recent surgery They were both so beautiful and honest. I would love to have had sisters like that growing up. I have no sisters.
I am glad that they let me be their friend even for a few minutes and let this crazy white lady take up their time. It felt like with friends like that I would be safe and never lack for anything. Sometimes in my culture, your friends are not your friends and you spend your whole life alone. In my culture, your friends would let you go out looking like a mole rat because its what we do. I don't do that. I won't do that. I see it all the time and it kills me to think that my culture does this but it happens.
So thank you nice ladies in Target who saved me. I went home and figured out what to do with my boring purchases. You let me be your friend just for a few minutes and be part of your sisterhood. It felt good to be loved just for who I am and not to be judged. Thank you. If only everyone could be like the two of you, our world would be a better place.
